Community Dental Services

Service provided

We offer a wide range of emergency and general dental care, including:

  • Dental examinations and check-ups
  • Oral health education and advice
  • Scale and cleans
  • Fillings and extractions
  • X-rays and fissure seals
  • Root canal treatments

Target population

Children eligible for treatment at a public dental clinic include:

  • Children under 13 years of age (no concession card required)
  • Children aged 13-17 years who hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
  • Children aged 2-17 years eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
  • Any student enrolled in a Victorian government primary, secondary or specialist school through Smile Squad.

Priority access groups:

We prioritise access for the following groups:

  • Children aged 0-12 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Pregnant people
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
  • People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Referral pathway

No referral is required.
