Service provided

The Loddon Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local provides a range of health and wellbeing services to children up to 11 years old to support healthy development and emotional wellbeing. Children’s Local Services offer a range of specialist medical and allied health services, which are determined by your goals and needs, including:

• Help to navigate the healthcare system to get the best outcomes and care options
• Coordination of your family’s care
• Allied health
• Mental health care
• Medical care
• Therapeutic groups for both children and parents
• Educational programs
• Family support

Services are tailored to individual children, parents and carers.

Programs provided include:

• Parent information sessions
• School holiday parent and child sessions
• Longer parenting programs
• Art programs for children

The Children’s Local Service is led by Bendigo Community Health Services, in partnership with Bendigo Health and our regional partners:

• Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative
• Njernda Aboriginal Corporation
• Echuca Regional Health
• Dhelkaya Health
• Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health
• North Central Local Learning and Employment Network, and
• Maryborough District Health Service.

Eligibility Criteria

Services are available to families across the Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Loddon, Macedon Ranges, Mt Alexander and Greater Bendigo regions.

Referral pathway

The service is working directly with local referrers to ensure that our services are reaching the children and families with the highest need in our communities.

Referrals are currently being accepted via The Orange Door, Maternal and Child Health Services and other targeted referral points across the region.
