Very Special Kids provides holistic palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and tailored support for their families – through life, death, and bereavement.

The free-of-charge services offered include:

• Counselling and emotional support.
• Sibling support.
• Trained family volunteers.
• Bereavement support.
• Holiday cottages at Glen Osmond Farm.
• Care at the Very Special Kids children’s hospice in Malvern.
• Networking and peer activities.

Very Special Kids is committed to providing support state-wide Victoria, with four hubs across metropolitan and regional Victoria, as well our main office and children’s hospice in Malvern.

Target population

Very Special Kids cares for families who have children with life-limiting conditions from the ages of 0 to 18 years of age

Referral pathway

Referrals can come from any source such as a family, a GP, a nurse, an allied health professional, or hospital staff, if the child’s parent or carer with parental responsibility, has given their consent.
